STATE OF PRODIGY REPORT 2025

Prodigy is almost 8 years old! Technically, still a toddler, so also technically not allowed to even be IN Prodigy! I’m sure that’s some kind of paradox, but nevertheless, 2025 was a wonderful year full of filled expectations!

For starters, Prodigy got a brand new Hole 1… but only 1 new hole. Therefore, 2026 shall bring a couple new holes. I already have plans to redo Hole 16 with a whole (hole) new strategy. The magazine library was moved and completely reorganized with 2 couches and a reading area. I love this new layout; especially for those working on a run of Earthbound! I would say I added a few more consoles… but what else is new?!

Rent went up, obviously. Insurance went wayyy up… of course. Why wouldn’t it? I can’t imagine what would happen if I actually had to use it; shudder to think. Payroll went up, but my staff majorly deserves it. A major year-to-year consistency is my political, activist and social change donations. $0. My game is games, not changing humankind. Rest assured once again, your hard earned money is not going to an ideology; it’s going toward YOU having a better time gaming at Prodigy, blanking out the real world and resetting your soul back to a time where life was simple. Then, being fully transparent about it. All in all, I personally made less, but I’m okay with it… therefore, Prodigy is in a strong position for 2026!

With the big minigolf tournament coming up in a few weeks, all of my extra promo will go towards that event, but I definitely plan on ramping up promo greatly this year for the whole room. When a new customer came in and was completely dumbfounded that Prodigy has been around for almost 8 years and they JUST heard of it, I would be pleased that we are a hidden gem around town. But, that’s going to change. People will know Prodigy this year.

I really want to thank everyone for the support for not only 2025, but since 2018. Who knew a little sober gameroom would survive this long? Not relying on alcohol sales is a tough position for a gameroom these days. I think it’s a little sad, but I don’t mind carrying the torch for the area. I always wanted to host a ‘gamer first.’ environment. No tricky themed nights to convince you to come; no drink deals, no activism… just real gaming in a place that respects true competition. Tell your friends; Prodigy is coming for ya! #2026
